NCS, Oyo /Osun Commands Breaks Even In revenue generation, Anti Smuggling Operations.

The Oyo/Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs Service(NCS) has announced that it exceeded its target set for this year in revenue generation and anti smuggling activities.


"The Command's projected annual revenue target is Thirty Billion Naira  ,N30,000_000,000 ,ooo,oo) while we have been able to collect the sum of Thirty Four Billion,Six Hundred and Eighty  Six Million,Eight Hundred and   Five Thousands,Nine Hundred and Sixty
Seven Naira,and Eighty Kobo ,the Customs  Area Comptroller disclosed

 
'Briefing newsmen in Ibadan on Wednesday, Mr.Abdullahi Zulkifla A said that his command was able to make some seizures " the most remarkable aof them was a seizure of One Thousand and Forty SK Blocks(marijuana) with one hundred and one bags of Cannabis Sativa with Duty Paid Value put at One Hundred and Fifty Nine Million and Seventy Thousand.



He added that other seizures include parboiled rice,12 Tokunbo vehicles,sugar,motor cycle,second hand cloths and shoe and tyres among others.


The Area Comptroller further said that the total Duty paid value on the items was One Hundred and Forty Two Million,Eight Hundred and Ninety Six One Hundred and Thirteen Naira.



The Custom Area Comptroller hinted that 24 suspects who were apprehended by the command have been interrogated and are currently on administrative bail
adding that two of such people have been convicted while two are currently under trial


Mr.ABDULAHI  commended officers and men under his command for their gallantry and  bravery pointing out that without their commitment to duties the Command would not have been able to exceed its annual target.


,"To this effect,the Command found it worthy to award some outstanding officers AC Amusan John ,officer in charge of Igbetti outstation, CSC Adewole Moses and ASC Idowu Gafar who performed creditably in their outstations.


He pointed out that the award given to them was to boost their morale and serve as impetus for others.


Abdullahi warned criminals to keep away from his command stressing that no act of economic sabotage would be allowed in view of the fact that the border closure has brought advantages to our economy in general.
