Details as Odion Ighalo makes history as the first Nigerian to play for Manchester United

According to Sky Sports sources, Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Odion Ighalo on personal terms and salary over a six-month loan from his parent club, , with an option to buy the 30-year-old. 


History in the making as he sets to become the first Nigerian to play for the Red Devils of Manchester.

His signing comes off the heels of United's dare need of striking options following the injury to Marcus Rashford.

Before today, the Nigerian professional footballer, played as a striker for Chinese club, Shanghai Shenhua.

He became even more available for this loan option considering the outbreak of the coronavirus that has made Chinese officials extend the start of the 2020 Chinese Super League season.

He started his career at a prime age at Julius Berger, before he then moved to Lyn Oslo in the Norwegian league in 2007.

A year later he was signed by Udinese, spending most of his tenure loaned out, notably at Granada.

Ighalo made his debut for Nigeria in 2015. He represented the nation at the 2018 World Cup and the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, finishing the latter tournament in 3rd place and being crowned top scorer.

Odion Ighalo is not new to the English Premier League, having played signed for Watford in 2014 following his ex[loits at Granada, scoring 36 goals in 90 appearances for the EPL club.
