Sheik Bamgbola emerges as new Chief Imam of Egbaland

The Egba Muslim Community in Ogun State has named Sheikh Saadudeen Bamgbola as the new Chief Imam of Egbaland.


It would be recalled that Sheikh Liadi Orunsolu who occupied the position died on May 26, 2020 and has been buried according to Islamic rites.

The New Chief Imam of Egbaland who is also referred to as Al-Morkazy, Al- Egbawiy was the deputy of the late Sheikh Liadi Orunsolu.

It was gathered that the decision was reached after the executives of the Egba Muslim Community met and reached unanimous decision that the next in line to the position be selected as the substantive Chief Imam of Egbaland.


The Wakeelul Muslimeeen of Yoruba land, Edo and Delta, Sheikh Iskeel Lawal (Sugar) confirmed the appointment of Sheikh Saadudeen Bamgbola as the new spiritual head of the Egba Muslim community.

Sheikh Lawal congratulated the Chief Imam praying that his reign be peaceful and prosperous to all Egba Muslims and Ogun State Muslims at large .

"May Allah make his reign successful for the betterment of the Muslim populace in Egba land and beyond."


He said Sheikh Bamgbola has seen it all as the deputy of Sheikh Liadi Orunsolu and he is expected to bring his wealth of experience to the new position as the new spiritual head of the Muslims in Egbaland.
