Worried by constant attacks on her son and his family, by People suspected to be political thugs, a retired female Civil servant, Mrs Adewunmi Okeowo has cried out to security operatives to commence discreet investigations that will bring the attackers  to book.

The retiree, Mrs. Okeowo said this in a chat with  some  Journalists in Lagos State.

"People  suspected  to be hired  political thugs have  been trailing my son, Kehinde Okeowo over his stance on some political issues"she said with nostalgia.

She specifically mentioned the Peoples Democratic  Party and the All Progressives Congress, APC as the brains behind her son's travails.

Salient Times recalled that  Kehinde Okeowo, a reknown social crusader and politician in Agboyi Community, Ketu Local Government Development Area of Lagos State had been having misunderstanding with some top shots within  his former  Political Party, the PDP after dumping the party because of its policies, which he said, included taking of oaths and corruption.

“My son started having problems in 2014 when he moved to the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in his area.  AD offered him the Deputy Chairmanship Aspirant position for the local government council election, in 2017.

She noted that after the outcome of the 2017 local government election in the area, her son who was also the founder  of a group known as "Stand Up Against  Corrupt Politician", was accused of exposing and using his knowledge of the internal wranglings within his former party, PDP, to plot the party’s electoral failure at the polls.

Also while the PDP threat to her son's life was launched during the election in the area, the APC is still continuing it's own threat up till now.

Mrs Okeowo who looked dejected added that when the AD campaigns were on before the election, the APC and PDP as well as sponsored cult groups were assaulting her son and his campaign team.

‘‘After the local government election, my son’s residence at Alapere, Ketu was razed by political thugs who had earlier attacked the place on several occasions looking for ways to eliminate him as he continued to garner more political strength" she lamented.

Mrs. Okeowo who explained further "Kehinde his family relocated to another residence in Victoria Island, yet some men suspected to have been paid to eliminate him, later visited their new residence.

They descended on his wife and children, beating them to stupor when they did not meet the head  of family at home"

The woman expressed  disgust that also on the 30th of March this year, the yet to be identified  men also attacked another of her children, Segun Okeowo, Kehinde's younger brother at his residence where they inflicted serious injuries on him, telling him that they would come back to deal with him if they could  not find his elder brother, Kehinde

She posited that currently, her own life too, has been in danger as she continued to receive threat calls from unknown persons who threatened to kill her, if she fails to produce her son for  punishment.

"Up till now, the miscreants are vowing to use both local and international connections at their disposal to deal with my son wherever he is" she said.
