Man Develops High Blood Pressure Over Herdsmen Attack

Still living in fear and anxiety over the recent attack  on his home by herdsmen a man has called on security operatives To help him out.

The man, Mr. Olatunji Atangbayila who made the appeal in Akure, Ondo State while speaking with journalists said that he and his family are now finding it difficult to move round their community in Oba-Ile, following threat of continued attacks by the herders.

"My offence, according to the herdsmen is that I used the perimeter fence of my house to block the road leading to where their cattles Graze" Mr Atangbayila raid with palpable worries. 



Just a couple of days ago, a group of herdsmen visited the farm of  a former Secretary to the Federal government,destroying the farm and molesting the staffers they met in the farm. 

 "My neighbours told me that about  dozen of them came to my residence two months ago ,when me and my family were not around"he explained further. 

Mr Atangbayila said that as a move to express their annoyance over his alleged offence, the herdsmen pulled down his perimeter fence, worth  thousands of Naira.

He explained that with the "dastardly act" the herders had exposed him and his family to serious  danger as their house is no longer secured to live in

The man noted that the  September  visit by the cattle rearers was the third of its kind this  year, saying"I have moved my entire family out of my  house because of threat to our lives by these herdsmen who said they would ruin me and my family whenever they laid their hands on us"

"He added  that despite his relocation to another place with his family, the herdsmen still  visit his community to get information about his whereabout. 


"I just reported the case to security operatives because the attack on me and my family came up in the wake of the last nationwide EndSARS  protests by Youths. 

Mr. Atangbayila appealed to security agents to provide adequate security for him, his family and other residents of his area because of what he described as the nefarious activities of the herdsmen.

“Aside from my job that I have put on hold because of the persistent attacks by the cattle rearers, my wife’s business had collapsed while my children have stopped going to school as we all live in fear and anxiety” he added.

Chairman  of the area's Landlords' Association, Mr. John Kolawole who also spoke to nëwsmen,expressed outrage over the constant harassment of residents of the area by herdsmen and called for a more proactive measure towards nipping their excesses in the bud.
