APC LG Congress: Ogun SSG charges new Exco on progressive ideals

The newly elected local government executive of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ijebu North Local Government area, have been urged to rededicate themselves to progressive ideals aimed at further strengthening unity in the party through all-inclusive and people-oriented policies. 

The Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi threw the challenge shortly after the election held at the local government secretariat, Ijebu-Igbo.

He lauded the comportment of the party faithfuls, stating that their impressive turnout reflected the existing spirit of inclusiveness, fairness and fairness as exemplified by the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

Describing the election process as transparent with commendation to party elders and leaders in the Local Government, the State Scribe affirmed that the entire process was conducted in line with the guiding laws of the ruling party.

In his remarks, a party leader and former member of the State House of Assembly, Engr. Joseph Adegbesan, acknowledged the support and cooperation of stakeholders;  expressed gratitude to them for the peaceful conduct of the congress.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chairman, APC local government election committee, Hon. Aderibigbe Owodunni  implored the party stakeholders to conduct themselves in an orderly manner, adding that any Congress organized aside the one he was presiding upon, remained null and void.

"We are here to organize this congress, based on the time-table from the National Secretariat in  Abuja, this is the recognize and authentic congress and you have show yourself in and orderly manner, which is very encouraging", he stated.

In his acceptance speech, the new APC local government Chairman, Alhaji Moibu Olufodun appreciated the party leaders and the party faithful for the confidence reposed in him to lead the party affairs in the council area.

Dignitaries at the excercise included officials from the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr. Olawale Ayannuga, Mr. Muiz Dada and Mrs. Feyisayo Omoteyinse amongst others.
