Ogun provide solar street lights to rural community

Ogun State Government has provided solar street lights to the people of Isiwo community and Iloti community in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area.

The Special Adviser to the State Governor on Rural Development, Princess Olapeju Shote said the project is part of the fulfilment of electioneering campaign of the present administration, saying rural communities in the state would enjoy more dividend of democracy.

"This is one of the promises made by the present administration led by Prince Dapo Abiodun during electioneering campaign that he would make livelihood of Rural dwellers in the State more meaningful”, shote said.

She maintained that the welfare of the rural dwellers is the major priority of the present administration, adding that “the people must have noticed the achievement through several road constructions across the State”.

Princess Shote commended the community leaders for their support, saying that the government would do more, urging them to protect the street lights, and see it as their own project.

Speaking earlier, the leader of Legislative arm of government, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Hon. Olusola Ogundare lauded the government for the project, and appealed to the people to be patient with the present administration.

Also speaking, a community leader, Alhaji Ganiyu Elias, expressed gratitude to the state government for the solar power panel street lights provided for the community.

Speaking on behalf of the communities, Mrs. Abdul Kehinde and Mr. Lamina Sarafadeen appreciated the state Government for the gesture, praying for more divine wisdom to move the state to greater heights.

Other community that benefited from the solar power panel home kits is Odo Kobara in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area.
